“In God We Teach,” a documentary by Vic Losick tells the story of the conflict that erupted in Kearny, New Jersey after a student secretly recorded his public high school history teacher in class, and accused him of proselytizing for Jesus.

Also included in the the film is an important sequence that was filmed in Mission Viejo, CA. That sequence, which also revolved around a student who secretly recorded his public high school history teacher in class became known as the “Jesus Glasses” controversy. The subsequent law suit that was filed in this matter is being appealed to the US Supreme Court in January 2012.

Following the film there will be a audience Q&A with Vic Losick, director, and Dr. James Corbett, the “Jesus Glasses” teacher. Join us for a lively examination of the challenges and pitfalls of discussing religion in the public school classroom.
